Thanks to the financial support of the FRQNT, the Regroupement stratégique du Centre d'études nordiques (RS-CEN) has adopted a new funding program to foster collaboration and synergy among its members. Here are the different programs.
Grant for the start-up of new research initiatives led by at least 2 regular members of the CEN. The objectives of this internal grant program are: 1) to encourage the creation of new collaborations between CEN members, 2) to support existing collaborations, and 3) to foster the integration of new regular status CEN members at the beginning of their career. Submitted projects that involve more than one institution will be an asset in obtaining the grant. Institutional representation in the grant will also be considered in the evaluation of submitted projects.

Each summer, the CEN charters a helicopter in the Hudson Bay area to support the research activities of its regular and collaborative members around the Qaujisarvik network of research stations. This is a major logistical operation costing close to $120,000, of which $50,000 comes from the RS-CEN grant. The remaining amount is covered by CEN members who wish to use this helicopter for their research work. Regular members in the early stages of their careers and team projects will be favored in receiving this financial support. An announcement of this program is sent by e-mail to all CEN members in February or March of each year.
