General Information

The student committee of CEN, along with the student association of Sentinelle Nord, is pleased to offer student members from both institutions a 3-day writing retreat, which will take place from April 3 to 5, 2025, in the peaceful and enchanting boreal surroundings of the Montmorency Forest (Research Forest of Université Laval), located in La Côte-de-Beaupré (north of Quebec City).

What to Expect?

Writing sessions will follow a "Pomodoro" style, interspersed with outdoor activities, sports, and relaxation. You will also have the opportunity to meet and interact with students from other universities. Throughout the retreat, students will engage in more than 20 hours of high-quality writing, making this a highly effective activity for advancing your research project.

Logisitics and Registration Details

Transportation is not included in the cost of the retreat. However, you may request reimbursement for travel expenses from our member universities to the retreat. For ecological reasons, we will only reimburse trips made by carpooling or if you are the sole representative of your institution (please contact us for any questions regarding this).

Accommodation: Please bring your own bedding (sheets/sleeping bag and pillow).

Food is included in the cost of the retreat. We will provide catering for lunches and dinners. Breakfast will not be prepared for you, but all food will be pre-purchased, and you will only need to toast and butter your bread!

A fee of $80 per person will be required to confirm your registration (this includes accommodation and food for the duration of the retreat).

Feel free to request financial support from your supervisors for the event.

You will have access to a large room for working, the kitchen, as well as the entire outdoor site. Wi-Fi is available in all rooms and chalets.
